Gadabout Drifts: House 1, Rules

WHAT???!!!???  Another Legacy?  Yeah, thank Mojo for that!  She pulled me in and held me captive until I just couldn’t say no to trying this legacy challenge for myself!  So let’s start off with the rules.  You can click on the title below to get to the blog that has all of the rules.  However, I am going to do this the way Mojo is doing it.  Blind.  We will see how long this control freak can keep that up! LOL.  So away we go, gadabouting around the world with Rob Gadabout and his descendants! Because I plan on playing all 24 house challenges!  And calling this a legacy!

Drifter House 1

GAME SET UP FOR THOSE INTERESTED IN THE FULL 24 HOUSE CHALLENGE
In both Oasis Springs and Willow Creek, you will need to:
-Evict all Sims from the Residential Lots
-Demolish all Residential and Community Lots
-Place a Restaurant on The Futures Past Lot in Oasis Springs (if you own Dine Out)
All other worlds and vacation destinations may be built upon or populated however you’d like

MAKING THE DRIFTER
Create on Sim who is a:
-Humanoid
*For those who have Get To Work, you may choose the Alien race
-Young Adult

*Please note that if you download your Sim, you will need to make sure that they do not have any Skills built or extra Traits gained

REQUIRED GAME SETTINGS
Under the Gameplay tab in the Game Options menu select the following:
-Autonomy – Full
-Auto Age (Played Sims) – Yes
-Sim Lifespan – Normal

WHERE TO START AND LAST MINUTE PREPARATIONS
-Choose any Season to start in (if you own Seasons)
-Move The Drifter onto the Agave Abode Residential Lot in Oasis Springs
-Sell or delete any belongings that The Drifter has brought in their inventory
*If you choose to keep any items, you must deduct the cost of the object(s) from the Active Household Funds before ANY other object(s) are allowed to be purchased
-Drop the Active Household Funds to $0 Simoleons (testingcheats on + Money 0)
-Save your game
-Make a backup save (start of House 001)
*I highly recommend that you make these separate game save files so that if you are unsatisfied with how things turn out or you experience a House Challenge fail, you will have the option to redo House 001 without losing all prior world progress (this is more for future houses, but it’s good practice)

THE ONLY PLAYABLE SIM THIS HOUSE CHALLENGE IS:
-The Drifter you created

REQUIRED GOALS OF HOUSE 001
1. As a minimum create a 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom home worth at least $30k Simoleons

2. Produce and raise The Heir to the Young Adult life stage
When The Heir reaches the Young Adult stage, you must stop gameplay and save if you are continuing onto House 002

ALL ABOUT THE HEIR
-The Heir is the firstborn humanoid or alien baby made between The Drifter and another Sim who is part of the Active Household at the time the WooHoo For Baby interaction is used
-You may pick the Traits and the Aspiration of The Heir (Age Ups)

IT IS A HOUSE CHALLENGE FAIL IF:
-Any Required Goal was not completed before The Heir ages to Young Adult
-The Heir dies or is otherwise removed from the Active Household

WHERE AND WHEN YOU CAN TRAVEL
$1k Simoleons sitting in Active Households Funds is required ANY time you wish to travel to:
-Restaurants that have been placed in any of the worlds (Dine Out needed)
-The Bluffs (Get Together needed) – invite required
-The Ruins (Get Together needed) – invite required
-The Von Haunt Estate (Get Together needed) – invite required
-Festival or Holiday Event Locations – invite required
-Club or Party locations the Household Sims are asked to attend or that the Drifter hosts
-Vacation destinations (Outdoor Retreat and/or Jungle Adventures needed)
*Selvadorada is a gorgeous destination (while it is not off limits), be aware that digging up relics and/or exploring the jungle can yield top dollar goodies in a few in-game hours, so it’s definitely not recommended due to the nature of the challenge

The Active Household Funds requirement does not apply if you wish to travel to:
-Retail Lots that the Active Household owns, in any of the worlds (Get To Work needed)
-Vet Clinics that have been placed in any of the worlds (Cats and Dogs needed)
-The Hospital (Get To Work needed)
-The Police Station (Get To Work needed)
-The Science Station (Get To Work needed)
-Sixam (Get To Work needed)
-Lots required for work (like the Critic and Political careers from City Living)
-Lots needed to complete Aspirations (just for the required updates)
-Visit The Final Resting Place of Sims (to strengthen ties or release spirits)

ADDING SIMS TO THE ACTIVE HOUSEHOLD
-Sims that join the Active Household MUST be added using the Move-In interaction except:
Adopted Sims/Pets, Whispering Wishing Well acquired Sims or Created Clones
-If a Sim you are inviting to Move In has other Household Members attached, you may split their Household or move any number of them in (within the game constraints)
-Checkmark “Sell All Lot Furnishings” if the option is available
-Active Household Funds MUST be reset to the amount it was before the new Sim(s) Moved In
-Any items brought in the Personal or Family Inventory when a Sim Moves In now belongs to the Active Household and may be kept or sold

YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO:
-Control any Sims other than The Drifter
*You may never direct non-playable Sims to interact with objects or others unless it’s to use the Claim Bed or Age Up interactions
*Any options available through their portrait in the bottom left-hand corner is okay to use, and you may open their personal inventory to add or remove items
-Host Club Gatherings on the Active Home Lot
-Designate the Active Home Lot as a Club Hangout destination
-Have The Drifter become a Vampire
-Use any age altering or life-prolonging items
-Move any Sims OUT of the Active Household
-Create or designate other Sims to fill the role of The Drifter or The Heir should either of them die or be removed from the Active Household

ADDITIONAL INFO
-You may select the Traits and Aspirations of the Sims in the Active Household (Age Ups)
-The Drifter may purchase and manage the following lot types:

  • Retail Lot,
  • Restaurant,
  • Vet Clinic

-Any puppies or kittens born into the Active Household may be kept or sold
-The Drifter may create Clubs
-Any Sim in the Active Household may accept Club invites
-You may set Season lengths and create Holidays
-The use of any Mods or Custom Content is at your discretion
